Future Me
‘Future Me’ is a project that explores the concept of aspirational careers and the deeply personal ambitions people hold for their futures. It focuses on individuals’ dream jobs or strong passions that they hope to one day transform into meaningful and sustainable careers. In a time where the job market is increasingly competitive and uncertain, pursuing work that aligns with personal interests has become a significant challenge.
“ From a young age, I’ve been drawn to investigations and unanswered questions surrounding unsolved crimes. Growing up in a semi-dysfunctional household, I’ve watched my brother move in and out of the justice system for various minor offences. Rather than distancing me from crime, it’s parked a deeper curiosity, not just about the acts themselves, but about the psychology behind them and the circumstances that lead people down that path. This fascination pushed me to pursue a degree in criminology and forensic science, where theory met lived experience. ”
“ My reasoning for wanting to be an accountant started with inspiration from a teacher at school that made me realise the importance of finance in the world. Everything revolves around money and the way that it circulates and what better way to understand it all than to work in that sector and gain hands on experience.”
“ I would like to become a lawyer because I have a passion for justice and helping people. Becoming a lawyer will allow me to advocate for those who may not have a voice, and ensure their rights have been upheld. ”
“ I wanted to become a chef because of my love of food, each plate, each dinner serves a memory, wether that’s a birthday, anniversary or just an impromptu meal it brings people together and it’s also brings comfort. The passion of the high intensity environment is what keeps me going and thriving everyday, and it has made me resilient and developed me into who I am today. ”
