I am a portrait photographer, mainly specialising in studio portraiture. Portrait photography has been my passion ever since I got my first camera. I’ve always been fascinated by how many different ways you can capture a person, and how a portrait can become more than just an image.

One of the main reasons I love portraiture is the connection it creates between me and the person I’m photographing. Whether I’m meeting someone new or working with someone I already know, getting to talk with them and learn about who they are, becomes an important part of the process. I enjoy seeing how someone who might start out shy in front of the camera slowly becomes more relaxed and confident, and I try to reflect that transformation in my work.

When I started university and gained access to professional studio facilities, my approach to photography grew even more. The studio quickly became my safe and creative space. Being able to control everything, from the lighting setups to the wide range of coloured backdrops it gave me the freedom to experiment and learn. Through this, I’ve created some of my strongest images and developed a better understanding of how technical choices can shape the final portrait.

Overall, my work is driven by the desire to capture people honestly and thoughtfully. I aim to create portraits that show personality, emotion, and the unique moment shared between me and my subject. My photography is about both the connection and the craft, and every portrait represents a blend of the two.
